Brightest Minds In CHS

This blog is for my 7th period class. It's taught by Bruce Twitchell. This is my third year in photography and its helped me out a lot. This year, I'm in advanced photography. There are also IB Art kids in our class period. They bust out some pretty crazy projects.

Wisdom Week

All My Wisdom
Bamboozled
Empty

On the week of March 9 to March 13 (friday the 13th actually) I was home laying around. I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed that monday. It was quite painful. But, I was still able to run around my house taking pictures for my photo project. I found things in my home that pulled my attention to them. Bamboo, because its a beautiful plant. My family, because that was all the human contact I really had. Some bananas, because they were bright in color. My cat, because it layed in bed with me all week. I also included a picture of my actual teeth. They are kind of gross though. Through out the week I tried to document my swelling, but I didn't end up liking the picture to much so those will stay hidden. Enjoy.

Piano K@

I had a lot of fun taking pictures of Katt. She was very, very good at piano. She has been playing for seven years. It made me realize that I should have kept up with piano. I played when I was younger. I think I did a good job with this project. I like the elegant piano combined with Katt's style.

The Face

Jewelry that to me represents some of
my favorite experiences.
One was from my boyfriend, two are from Tonasket,
and the beaded bracelet on the bottom is actually
hand made by an alaskan native.
My friends mom traveled from village to village selling eyeglasses.
She gave it to me lastyear.

Glass Is An Art
Serenity

For this project I was trying to combine the shadows of my last assignment, with the still like approach of my project before that. I was working with a lamp for my lighting and it was kindof tough. But, I think the shots turned out having good composure.

JAWBREAKER
CONFUSION

I was trying to get a dramatic look with harsh shadows. I like the fact that I was able to capture actual emotion on Megan's face.

Beauty In the Sink

When I started this project I was trying to capture water dropping into the sink. But I ended up throwing an apple in the sink and playing with the color. I Like the bright organic color of the apple against the harsh industrial color of the sink. Plus, the bubbles add great texture.

My semester one final...

Something to think about...

"The point of life is not to get anywhere—it is to notice that you are, and have always been, already there. You are, always and forever, in the moment of pure creation. The point of life is therefore to create—who and what you are, and then to experience that." -Neale Donald Walsch
