Where is your contact sheet? Get that up here as well, points are taken off for not having it!
It is important to shoot a large number of photos, the only way that you will get better is to shoot more and more, and TRY different things. If it doesn't work, well at least you tried and you learned from it about why it doesn't work.
I really like the road photo. Only thing that I would suggest is get rid of the street numbers that are on the left- they really stand out and detract from the rest of the image.
I think that also you could burn down the sky some, it would make it much more intense and dramatic of a photo. Nice job AND GET YOUR CONTACT SHEETS UP!!!!
